The Adrift and Alone September Update is here!
New shark spawning system
This update was originally slated to release last month, but was delayed while we fixed a few issues it caused. The September Update is particularly interesting because we have finally found a way to optimize the game to a point where we have almost completely removed the FPS drops that have been present in the game since launch. To improve performance, we decided to take a different approach to spawning sharks. Up until this update, the game spawned all of its sharks at the start of the game. With the new system, we only spawn sharks when the player approaches a shark’s spawn location, which are evenly placed around the map near chest and crate spawn points. Early test builds show that this will prevent the FPS drops and improve overall stability of the game.
